Since 1990, Innovant has collaborated with leading designers and global financial institutions to develop trading desks to suit their specific requirements. The most common trading desk design is the standard bench: a continuous fixed height bench design utilizing cantilevered worktops to provide a highly flexible system that can be tailored to each client's dimensional, aesthetic and technology needs. The standard bench trading desk enables densification of each cluster to accommodate quick changes in population as worktops are continuous. It also enables simple conversion to and from a workstation style desk for clients seeking a multi-environment product range. Product features such as CPU housing, heat management systems, personal storage, privacy panels, and slatwalls can be added or removed as required.

With a standard bench design, the same product range can be used for a trading desk, a permanent address workstation, a touchdown / collaborative bench, and even a contingency (disaster recovery) environment by simply adding or removing standard product features. The standard bench trading desk design offers the most cost effective and flexible solution for the trading floor, while providing the greatest design freedom to incorporate designer influence on aesthetics.

Since 2005, Innovant has installed 14 standard bench trading floors throughout the world in excess of 600 positions, reinforcing the fact that this design remains the concept of choice for the majority of the world's financial institutions.
